The Art of Translation
As in previous years, the ilb's programme, once again, devotes a section to the conflicting emotions of joy and pain associated with the art of translation and the hidden work it involves. With Thomas Eichhorn (Translator of Les Murray’s epic “Fredy Neptune”), Sabine Stöhr (translator of Jury Andrukhovych’s works) and Berthold Zilly (translator of Raduan Nassar’s works).

3 Ladies with Style and 3 Gentlemen with Charm
6pm In Kathrin Schmidt’s “Seebach’s Black Cats”, “the art of wild story invention” blends together with “contemporary history”; in her collection of stories, “In the Colours of Night”, Susanne Heinrich casts “love as an intoxicating celebration of the affliction of nothing” and Kirsten Fuchs depicts an “amour fou during times of social frostiness” in “The Titanic and Mr. Berg”.
7pm Kai Weyand reads from “On Tuesday the New Builds will Collapse” – a “work written with virtuoso”. In “At Home” Kristof Magnusson tells a “wild story of the city” of Reykjavik and with “Jakob Voss’ Dreams”, Matthias Göritz writes “a poetic novel about the subconscious”.
